Bellies filled he would lead her away from company and into less friendly areas. He didn't love being down from the mountains, it all felt incredibly uncomfortable for him and yet here he was... Following her oh so faithfully. Though he would take a brief pause from following to lead. Stepping forth from her side long limbs would drop him down and away from the open lands and off to the forests. Many might think of Silvis as a death trap he he had always enjoyed it. It was dark here, damp... He could relax a bit more, shoulders rolling back as he moved. Bioluminescent nails ticking on the hard roots as he stepped over them. For once his tail would lift, moving to hover a few inches above the earth. Held aloft by the mass amount of muscles in the thick limb. Unlike her tail his had no extra fur, it was shorter and sleek like the rest of his body. The girth was pure muscle.

He would toss a glance back to her, tipping his head for a moment as he considered his words. He was starting to learn her language a bit more and he was more willing to bother to learn because of her. "Careful..." He would say, motioning around with his head in a very general sense. Silvis was not for the light of heart... "Poison. Snakes." He would offer. They had been learning, they had been swapping words here and there and he was retaining them. And yet despite the fact that this place was so dangerous he wasn't overly concerned about her here... Something told him that perhaps she could fend for herself here.

The pair had been traveling together for some time. It was an easy companionship; a thought that she kept repeating in her mind. With daily practice, they were learning from one another. The attempts to speak the language of the other often ended up with humorous results. Their tongues were so different that sometimes it was hard to create the same sounds. But, with lots of practice, they were slowly getting a feel for one another's way of speaking.

As they walked through the nice, cool forest, Tantalus looked back at her and spoke two words. The expression on his face (It was growing more handsome by the day) spoke of caution. 'Poison' was a term that she knew. Perhaps it was fairly universal? Iolaire found it humorous that he would bring up such a thing. She laughed aloud, drawing her chin against the silken fur of her chest before shaking it back and forth lightly with mirth. Padding up close to him, she opened her slender maw lined with all of those bright white teeth. Then, she allowed the retractable fangs to slide forward. Playfully, she pretended as though she would bite him before shaking her head again with a grin.  Poison.  she repeated.

Having her fangs filled with poison didn't make her immune to other poisons, but she believed that she had a better understanding of poisonous things. The path narrowed between two close growing trees. Snaking past the big man, she slid her silken side along his before taking the lead. If he was afraid of poison, she would gladly go first.

She would listen but instead of being frightened she would laugh. Padding up to him she would open her maw and allow fangs to slide down much like the snakes that lived in the trees. So her element was poison? He would tip his head, a slight smirk dancing along his lips as he raised a brow and looked up. How did he convoy that despite the fact that she was used to poison there were still so many things in here that could kill either of them. Not just poison but the pitfalls. He would shrug slightly and toss his head up to the canopy above them. When they were standing, when they were still he could hear them. The slither of the snakes in the trees, the sound of them shifting the branches with their weight was still audible. But she seemed to have different ideas, pushing past him and slithering her way down a narrower path. Thankfully his pitfalls were height not width so he would slip into the path along behind her. Nose would drop lower, moving to hover above her lower spine while he followed. Partially so he could grab her should he need to if she fell down at any point. She might not know where exactly she was going but he didn't mind her leading. Though for all he knew this was her normal home... "Do you know this place?" He would ask, though he didn't expect her to understand what he was trying to ask her.

Tiny, odd paws picked their way over the terrain. Her companion had seemed a little wary, so she was being wary as well. It couldn't just be the snakes, could it? She too could hear them in the trees, in the grasses, hidden under leaves and rocks. The land that she hailed from had many types of snakes. Many things in general that could and would kill you if given the chance. Iolaire found that, if you were calm and stepped softly, the chances of being bitten were significantly lowered.

As she moved along, Tantalus spoke. Furrowing her brow slightly, she looked over her shoulder at him. He seemed to be asking her a question, but the only word that she understood was 'you.' Rather than try to decipher his words, the slim fae gave a slight shrug and turned back to the path. As she stepped forward, the ground felt a but spongy beneath her paw. Iolaire stopped and, extending that paw, felt across the ground. Beneath the spread of vines and leaves was a hole in the earth. Tricky place. The tip of her thickly furred tail twitched in amusement as she skirted the hole, only looking back to tell Tantalus,  "Danger."

She was content to take the lead, he knew this land well but he was still cautious. He knew what kind of pit falls lay beneath their paws, he knew what pitfalls lurked in the canopy. And yet he had brought her here. Something about her made him think that she would like this place perhaps. He would smirk slightly at her glance and shrug as she tried to understand him and then promptly gave up on that idea. It was hard and yet it was easy, it was easy for him to so loyally follow her around without even knowing what they were doing or why. He trusted her so faithfully and it was strange. He had fallen for women before, he had a bad habit of trailing after women without a thought and yet that was still different than what he had been feeling for her. Something was instinctual almost. She would halt suddenly and he would follow suit, neck craning to poke his head over her shoulder and study the ground she would prod with her paw. Brow would arch slowly as he studied this, icy breath cascading down over her neck. She would cast a glance back at him, telling him that it was dangerous and slowly he would nod. "Noted..." He would rumble before he would motion to their left, waiting or her to continue leading. He didn't really have a plan or destination in mind, but perhaps she did. Maybe there was something here that she wished to collect or see. Or perhaps it would just be somewhere for them to cross through on their way to nowhere.

As the big wolf stood over her, bis breath tickled the back of her neck. The chill air brought a shudder from the diminutive lady and her fur bristled momentarily. He uttered a word and motioned for them to move in a different direction and Iolaire moved as he wished without argue or second thought. Funny. Taking direction wasn't her strong suit. With a shrug though, she continued on.

There was no plan in her mind. No destination that she was trying to reach. They were simply two companions walking. As she padded quietly ahead, a large, thick reptile slithered across their path. Iolaire cast a poisonous glance at Tantalus and spoke, Snake. She then hissed at him playfully, that long tongue snaking from between blackened lips for a moment before she sucked it back into her maw and grinned. If they were going to be around one another, they would need to break the language barrier. So, in order to do so, she would begin pointing out objects and speaking their names in her tongue to him. Hopefully, he would catch on to the game and begin doing the same.

She seemed to be enjoying herself, not paying too much mind to him as he hovered over her like a protective father over their pup. She would pause as a serpent moved across the ground before het, turning her gaze to face him and saying the word 'snake'. In her language it sounded so odd, hissing at him and smirking even as he cast a glance down to the serpent himself. "Nake" He would attempt, choking on the s as he attempted to push it out. Eyes would roll to the sky slightly as he drew in a deep breath. She seemed much more willing to experiment with language then he was, this was all far too frustrating for him. "S... na... ke..." He would say, sounding each word out letter itself before sighing and casting a glance back down to the serpent. "Snake." He would say easily in his own language. Eventually they would move on and she would continue with their walk, she would point here and there to different things and speak their names. He would attempt to repeat them after her before he would speak the names in his language. Their walk would take them through generic things such as trees and shrubs to more specific things such as different types of snakes and herbs. It was a good trek, it was a good lesson but he did so hate languages. It was almost night fall before they reached the other edge of Silva, breaking through the dense canopy. "Shelter..." He would say, looking around for a moment before stepping ahead and setting out. It was time to find somewhere to sleep for the evening.

The efforts of Tantalus to repeat her words were laughable much as her efforts were to repeat his own. The tri-colored fae found herself laughing more than she had in a long while. Two-toned eyes glittered and pearly white teeth flashed. Behind her, that red-panda tail licked back and forth, often brushing his thick forelegs as she walked in front of him.

They walked and talked. Or attempted to talk. Mostly she was just happy to be in the company of someone else. Someone that she seemed to trust. It was an odd feeling, but a good feeling. She hadn't even felt this comfortable with Thulhu and she'd been with him for a long time. It was... nice. There was a strange, tentative trust there. Only tentative because she didn't entirely trust her own feelings. Her body trusted him, only her mind balked. And so, when he said the word 'shelter' and herded her in another direction, she followed him without hesitation."Lead the way." And she followed.
