OOC: Hate starting threads, sorry for the short startxD

She felt drawn here today. As though she needed to be here. Silently, Paradise had left her homelands early morning before the sun had chance to rise and set, travelling down to one of her favorite places. The fons. It was always peaceful here, the only noise present was the sound of the birds singing and communication to one another and the sounds of the water rippling as it moves within the lake. Once the ashen dame had found her way to the Fons, she would relax, taking a long needed sigh of relief. She had to stop in her track for a moment, catching her breath after walking hours on end. Long limbs would take her to the outer edge of the lake, deciding to to slip in to cool down quickly. The waters would consumer her legs first and then her lean body, leaving her cranium out of the water so she could see where she was going and breathe. Once the nymph had cooled down, she would drag herself out of the water, droplets dripping of her frame and absorbed into the ground beneath her.

The petite beauty had lingered by the fons longer than she had intended to. It had brought her back to Asuryan, perhaps it would bring her her brother. Although as hopeful as she was she doubt that might be the case. She was hiding in the shade of a nearby tree, she had dosed off a little with the heat of the day, only to wake when hearing a disturbance in the nearby lake. Excitement overwhelmed her barly awake self as she scrambled to her feet. Could it be her brother was here? She had dreamed of this, and still thinking she was in her dream she hurried to the water’s edge.

Only to be struck with a wave of disappointment. It wasn’t her brother who was climbing out of the cool waters. Her violet eyes would slowly widen in fear as she realised just whom it was. A woman with colourful feathers and no tail. It was one of the first wolves she had encountered in this spot so long ago. She took a step back; it was too late to turn back now Paradise would have seen her.

She winced inwardly as she remembered how she quickly resorted to hate and a want to harm her when she had discovered her name. Would Paradise wish to end her like she had before? She would have to defend herself she thought and she quickly shifted her position into that of a defensive state. She prayed silently that this was not going to turn out ugly.

Paradise for the time being would simply stand on the spot, allowing the drops of water to trail down her slender form and fall to the floor. Though, as the nymph quickly grew bored and wished to roam she would speed up the drying process by shaking her fur, appearing rather messy though her feathers would once again hold their regular bounce and luminosity. As long limbs would carry her further and further away from the lake, Paradise would question as to whether it was a good idea to leave, the days were hot and dry and she hated the feel of her throat being as dry as sound paper. Her track of thought had quickly diminished though. A scent hitting her nostrils and causing her to stop, the wolf appearing in sight. A mix of emotions would build up within her as Para would careful analyse the girl before her.

She still seemed the same, nervous, cautious. She wondered what the woman had been up to, it seemed she had been scarce on the lands of vindico like a ghost which haunts the premises. Though, Paradise couldn't help but feel the pang of guilt which loomed over her. Giving up Val's real name to her family and putting her in danger. She knew the placid babe was no threat and yet she had thrown her under the bus. Could Paradise change her mistakes or was this hostility now too deep routed. Her eyes would narrow, lips departing. "Still as fragile as I remember, Val" Her voice didn't hold the usual distant, cold tone towards the woman. Paradise would aim to near closer to her, though still kept the respectable distance away. "I'm sorry for making you vulnerable to my family. You're not like the others my father once described and I let his words get the better of my first impression." She hated to admit, knowing she always stuck to her gut instincts and first impressions. Her father had overpowered her thoughts.

The small maiden would keep her violet eyes on the face before her. The last image of Paradise that was branded to her memory was her hostile formation and a growl in her throat full of hate when the name of Volfglanz was painted before her. It was just a simple name, but it was more than enough to make this woman to turn against her. She couldn’t hide the surprise in her expression when she heard the next words that would escape the lips of the feathered dame. Was she apologising? This wasn’t something Valariea would expect. She would hold her silence listening as the other would speak.

She would continue to explain how she wasn’t like how her father described them. Valariea would frown ever so slightly, funny how her father would paint similar pictures for her and her brother. She was told they were monsters, power hungry and lustful for women. Her father even once told them how her very mother was almost taken from him, not long after the Madars had rallied other wolves to end their reign. Her father’s words were half mad, but that didn’t change the fact the stories had shaken Valariea to the core. It was likely both their fathers would have stretched the truths to make their sides of the story more to their liking.

Valariea would let out a sigh as she allowed her violet eyes to slide away from Paradise for a moment as she turned so her back faced the woman, sitting down she would turn her head to look back at Paradise, the ugly burned scars on her back clear for Paradise to see.

“Paradise… you see these scars that sit upon my back?” Valariea’s quiet and soft voice would ask her. Perhaps it was time to explain to Paradise how she might vary from the stories her father might have told. Perhaps through truth, Valarie could make peace at least with this Madar as her mother had wished.

“I gained these marks from my own father, when he tried to rape his own daughter after the passing of my mother. He took the wings from my back claiming I’ll never know the likes of freedom ever again… he was insane, and I was saved from my brother alone. I grew up in hiding hearing stories from him of your father and how monstrous he was. Just as you grew up hearing stories of my family.”

She would speak without a tremble; there was no fear in her voice only soft and quiet calmness. The small lady would stand once more and turn back to face Paradise. Now was a time to make peace.

“I…I don’t blame you for the hate you bare my family. It is a hate that is passed down from your father, just as my brother and I once hated the likes of you. Our hate was dissolving when my mother told me her story before she slipped away from us, and after what my father had done to me we vowed to help form a peace between our families. I… I’m not sure how easy that will be, but allow me to start with you.” Valariea spoke softly and kindly to Paradise as she took a step closer casting aside her fears.

If her mother could see her now, would she be proud? Was she becoming the lady she had hoped for? She didn’t feel frightened for once in her life standing before a woman that was bred to hate her over silly bedtime stories. She would be silent now her Violet eyes searching Paradise for that trust and that friendliness she first saw when they met so long ago.
Please Paradise, be my friend again. Her thoughts begged her silently.

As Paradise confessed, she would remain standing where she was, carefully analyzing Val to see her reaction. Would she turn Paradise's apology away? If the placid babe did, she couldn't be blamed. Afterall it was Paradise who gave up the woman's identity in front of multiple Madars, making her a target when she was already a rather quiet and vulnerable individual. Though Paradise offered peace between the two, she doubted they could be any more than civil, knowing if it came down to confrontation with the two families Paradise would likely choose her own unless she felt they were completely out of line. As the tension and awkwardness built up between them, Val would finally break the silence, shifting her slender silhouette to show Paradise her scarred back. It wasn't the prettiest of sights and she wondered how it hadn't got infected. In the Past the ashen nymph has briefly caught a glimpse of the woman's back, though she felt it were rude to ask any questions as to why she was disfigured. Though now Paradise was about to find out the shocking truth.

Triangular ears would twitch as Val would tell begin telling her story- her background with her father and the sole reason she had lost her great beautiful wings. The Madars hated her father and his want for power and yet it seems Val had rebelled away from him after unfortunate events. Perhaps she was the exception to her bloodline. " Why keep your name? Why not simply change it, it would have saved you from all of this grief." Perhaps one day peace will form between the two families, though Paradise believed it would be a miracle and one they'd never see. " I... I don't think peace will be easy Val, the hate for your family is strong and my family is determined to see you all destroyed." She'd sigh at the thought, believing the rivalry should have ended generations before their own. " But I shall not harm you Val, not while you only seek peace." Paradise respected the woman's efforts and had no reason to make her life any more difficult.

The small woman was silent as she listened carefully to Paradise’s words. They didn’t rush at her in anger, they came to her a bit confused, and with just a little bit of sympathy for the girl. She would explain her quest for peace would be a difficult task. It would seem the Madars wanted nothing to do with the Volfglanz other than for their destruction. Valariea’s hopes would deflate a little at Paradise’s words and her violet eyes would drop. She was brought back to look at Paradise when the other woman would speak saying that she would not seek to harm her under her pleas for peace.

Valariea’s eyes would almost swim with tears of relief. Although they may never be friends like they could have once if it wasn’t for her family name. At least this was a start. She wanted to walk up to Paradise and thank her, to maybe even nuzzle into her side. That want was not met, she knew that it wasn’t ladylike and it was only an agreeance to a peace between the two of them. Not a promised friendship. Still her eyes would sparkle happily; her long elegant tail would flick once fighting back a sudden burst of happiness.

“I wasn’t able to choose what family I belong to. I cannot easily just cast my name aside. The thought occurred to me once. I was going to take Asuryan’s name for a means of protection. My mother wouldn’t wish me to. She was the opposite of my father. While he was insane and cruel, my mother would be the gentle lady to calm my fears. She shared with me before she closed her eyes once more her wish for me and my brother. She had dreamed of peace. Her only wish was for me and my brother to mold a new meaning to the name of Volfglanz. To appease the gods and cleanse our name.” Valariea would speak to Paradise as if trying to will the other woman to understand.
Her eyes would meet with Paradise’s searching for any sign of acceptance. For a sign of understanding.

As weeks went on Paradise was beginning to view things from her own perspective rather than thinking the way her father had. For so long she focused on staying in the Madars good graces by thinking wrongly of their enemies, even when it appeared they were not a threat. But now? Her thoughts were clear and she wished to make her own decision when it came to others. For now, she would start with Val. Her green gaze would look fondly upon the placid babe as she spoke ever so lightly, defending herself from her family and their bad decisions in the past. She wasn't like her insane father, but rather the soft nature of her mother. Wishing to do right. Though changing her name would make her life easier as a whole, the woman decided to take the more difficult path to cleanse her name. Not for her cruel father, but for her mother as its what she wanted. It was a brave move, she couldn't deny it. Paradise would sigh, taking a moment to think before departing thin lips. " I respect that you're trying to cleanse your name, Val. But you must be careful. Wolves aren't always so forgiving..." She would pause, trying to process the situation before continuing. " I wish to start over. I don't want to judge you for the name you were given upon birth. You're kind Val and I hope you are fortunate in the future."
