He moved back into the forest, his steps fluid with impatience. Nostrils flared seeking out a particular scent. Paws pressed into the ground, tails lashing behind him. Tension rolled off him in waves. He weaved a path through the forest with ease, having already memorized the layout of his home. He followed after her trail, head hung low to keep track of where he was going. Shoulders rolled with each step, absorbing the impact of his heavy steps. He did not move silently, the muted thud of his steps the only sound to disturb the silence around him. Silver gaze cut through the trees, searching for her familiar figure. He was in each of no other than his little witch, and hopefully she was alone. He needed a distraction and a solution, but what his problem was he wasn't entirely sure yet. A low rumble vibrated in his throat, the sound seeming to be deafening in his ears within the silence of the forest. Ears swiveled restlessly, searching for the sounds of her movements.

"Speech." Thoughts.

She had begun loitering near the boundary between their forest and the random little rouge territory in the middle of their lands. The place that stole magic and if she was being completely honest, the place that terrified her the most. Petite woman would lounge only a few feet away from the invisible barrier, every once and a while sending a soft sonar ping into the barrier and listening as the barrier absorbed it. Normally her pings would bounce off objects and come back to her and from that she could gague how far away things were. Even with water, it absorbed some of the sound but still returned what was left in a way that made it easily identifiable as water. With this... No pings ever came back. She only knew how far away everything was because she had once again accidentally stepped into it today. A crunch of paw falls atop twigs would turn her attention elsewhere and slowly her head would swivel, looking over her should and sending out a stronger ping. They would bounce off a large form. She only had one guess and soon the breeze would tell her that her guess was correct. 'My lord...' She would greet though she would not rise from where she lay.

His nose led him not to her den but near the outskirts of his territory, where the odd little pond resided. He approached, her voice filling his head. She was not hard to find, laying amongst the brush, blind eyes turning towards him. She did not rise, nor did she need to, he closed the distance between them, sliding the forest floor beside her. He sought to press against her side, leaving no space between them. Forelegs stretched out in front of him, hind legs seeking to curl around her haunches, loosely tucking her against his side. Hips tipped to the side as he peered down at her, upper body propped up on his elbows.

"Hello darlin'." He rumbled, gaze shifting in favor the invisible barrier that was not to far away. He knew of the lake and the way it soaked up magic, rendering it useless, it was why he left a border around it, preferring not to step within the magic eating black hole. Tension slipped from his muscles minutely, restlessness dissipating ever so fractionally. Nostrils flared, inhaling her familiar perfume. She was his beta now, and he fully intended on treating her as such, seeing as his mother had been keeping to herself as of late.

"Speech." Thoughts.

He would drift towards her silently, not a word to be spoken and for this reason she would remain where she lay, seeming to watch him as he approached. After a moment he would drop himself beside her, coiling her close into his body and offering her a simple greeting. Lazily she would lean back, looking to drop her shoulder into his side and drape her head over his shoulders even as he peered down at her. It was more contact then she needed to transmit her thoughts but it was just enough to feel the tension in his shoulders even if it was slowly dissipating. 'Your mind is trouble my lord... What ails you?' She would ask softly. She had seen him tired, she had seen him stressed. Angry, lazy, relaxed... She had seen what she had thought to be all his emotion and yet here he was, tension pouring off him in almost tangible waves. Something was wrong, she wasn't an idiot, she knew he had come to see her for more then just her company.

She leaned back against him, her shoulder pressed to his side while her skull draped across his shoulders. Her voice filled his thoughts, reaching out to touch with the faintest of caresses. She could feel the tension radiating from him, not that he had bothered to completely tuck the emotion away, allowing his walls to fall some on her presence. "This land, it is not ready." His voice was low, laced with bitter disgust. "The wolves here are weak, incapable of know strength even when it slaps them in the face." Words a low rumble as he peered down at her, eyes steely orbs of unwavering silver. Lips twitched upward in a show of his disgust. His birthplace had been better than this god forsake land. He had been eager, too much so, jumping feet first into a cesspool of failures that could not yet full comprehend his plans.

Hackles rippled down his back, muscles flexing with the urge to expel restless energy. "Our numbers are too few, and even less willing. I will not call this place home." Angry words did not rise above a low murmur that rumbled deep in his chest. Did she understand what he was saying? His crown was unwavering despite his decision. He continued to peer down at her, ears tipping loosely forward in expectation, impatiently awaiting her words.

"Speech." Thoughts.

Tension would begin to ease from him but it was still evident, she wasn't an idiot. Her whole world revolved around being able to read people without being able to see any visual queues. Eventually he would begin speaking, painting her a picture of disgust and failure. She would not move, would not interrupt. She was here to support not to condescend. For a time she would lay there, draped across him as she seemed to stare at the world from over his back. He would no call this place home. She knew what he was saying, the intent behind those words were more then obvious. He would fall silent and for a time she would let them lapse into silence as she considered her next move. She had agreed to join him to seek shelter in the protection of pack lands... It was true that she had Newt and Persephone now... She would survive no matter what happened. 'Where will you go?' She would ask though she had no intention of following. Perhaps it was time for them to part ways... Or perhaps he had a plan to intact in which he would have use for her? Some strange part of her hoped for the later.

She stayed silent, not interrupting though also allowing a gap between his words and hers. She did not offer words of encouragement or discouragement, she did not try to change his mind nor try to degrade him for his decision. All she wanted to know was where he would go. He had no forgotten the deal he had made her, nor did he have any intention of ending that deal just yet. "Wherever you feel safest." A momentary lapse in control as he allowed her to decide where they would go. "I do not intend to break my side of our deal." He assured her, his gaze never leaving her sharp features, interested to know just what she would think. "There is a pack that resides on the mountain, led by a rather interesting man who claims to rule a neutral kingdom." He commented, thinking back to his meeting with the winged alpha. Interesting man indeed. "Or I can provide you the protection you seek as rogues." Dropping the reins on where his life was about to go was a physical effort, one that had muscles bunching uncomfortably, it was a foreign feeling that he did not care for. "I would like for you to be around when this place is ready." A low admittance that would be audible to only her. He had grown to trust her, to enjoy her presence and quiet council, it was not something he was entirely ready to let go.

"Speech." Thoughts.

His words were surprising. Wherever she felt safest? Slowly her head would lift from his shoulder and study him curiously. They were nose to nose now, black gaze fixated on here she assumed his eyes would be from the feel of his breath on her face. Just because he was leaving the pack didn't mean he was leaving her? Or going back on their deal. Okay fuck, she had hoped that he might decide against children. Bastard. Another pack to join? She could do that much... He wanted her to be around when he decided to take the crown once more? 'I will take Newt, Persephone and Lux, if you would allow, and go to this new pack. I can find the other woman from the first meeting too if you wish. We will be there should you decide you have need for us.' She would offer, nodding. Yes this would be what was happening... Slowly she would stand, pulling herself away from him and coming to stand exactly where she had been laying. Slowly her head would lower, looking to place a gentle kiss upon his cheek. 'Or... Should you choose to join us.' She would murmur. She knew nothing of this pack but she could blend in well enough in any alignment, being the quiet one meant you slipped through the world often unnoticed. She planned to continue doing that.

Lips curled into a faint smirk at her evident surprise. He meets her unseeing gaze, her nose nearly touching his as hot breath cascades over her features. What he wouldn't give to see into the confines of mind and poke around what she was thinking. But she did not disagree. She spoke of moving to the other pack and taking several with her. He had hoped that Newt would be left behind, but he was not so lucky. "As you wish." Answering her first request to take the women with her. "I won't be far, unless I can find a suitable place within this pack, as forth coming as the alpha was, he didn't give much information about the workings of his pack." He watched as she rose, stepping away from him, her touch vanishing from his side all to quickly. Her crown lowered, her voice a low murmur echoing in his skull as she pressed a kiss to his cheek, an oddly affectionate gesture coming from her. Lips once again twitched in the beginnings of a smirk, eyes soften fractionally. "We'll see, I'll escort you there." He rumbled, pressing his nose the underside of her jaw, against her throat.

"Speech." Thoughts.
